Well this weekend I had the oppoturnity to head out to visit my Aunt in Vulcan, Alberta....a.k.a Star Trek capital of Canada. Leonard Nimoy arrived (for the first time) to visit this small town on Friday, April 23rd, and there was a great turnout! There was a bronze statue made in his honour, he recieved the Key to the town, and he had his hand hand imprinted in cement. There was even an enterprise star ship donated by extendicare. People from all over had come out for the event...inlcuding B.C, Northern Alberta, and the States.
At the Vulcan V&S store, we did portraits for star trek fans with Spock cardboard cutouts (original Spock or the New Spock) so of course I couldn't resist taking a picture or two with these legendary characters.
It was fun, and interesting to see people walking around town with pointed ears and star trek uniforms. Here's a few of the shots I was able to get.
