Well, it's here!! StandOut Photography's new blog site. I have to admit that I never wanted to start a blog and had never seen the point until recently.....Then I finally realized that this is the easiest way to keep everyone up to date on sessions, do some sneak peeks for clients before all the photos are ready, and post upcoming promotions I'll be running throughout the year. So far, it's not as bad as I made it out to be...in fact, I think I might rather enjoy it.
Well, the first set of photos I thought I should post were from the event of the Lethbridge Train Bridge 100th anniversary. The entire bridge was lit up in celebration and I was able to get a few shots that I thought turned out pretty well. There were a lot of people that came out for it....and a lot of cameras. I believe they are lighting up the bridge in the middle of October sometime. Check it out if you can! Enjoy the photos.

For the shot below I ended up walking through the coulees at 10:30 at night....in sandles. I was not prepared to walk that far...but really wanted to get a shot from that angle (possibly obsessive & crazy...I'd like to think of it more as dedicated) They were not allowing traffic through....except for the Lethbridge transit (which were taking people down to the very bottom). Then as I'm walking back, of course it starts raining, and I don't have a jacket, so I wrapped my camera in my long sweater that I happen to be wearing. So needless to say, I got soaked, but my camera was cozy and dry.
