TURNING 30!

Okay, well this blogpost has nothing to do with photos, but thought it might be fun to post.
On Friday, I joined the 30's club! My 12 year old daughter said to me, "it's okay mom, you are not officially the old age until 31 and then you won't be as cool" So woohooo, I got one more year ;)
And Jeff was really on top of his game this year...not to mention incredibly sweet, and bought me an all day spa package to help me have a relaxing day. And that I did! And then when I got back the girls had given me some very thoughtful gifts from the dollar store, with Sariah adding her two cents in.
Since I had been given a facial at the spa, I had come back without any makeup on. Then, right before my very precious 4 year old gives me her gift, she says to me... "Mom, you should really put some makeup on, you would look much better and prettier...Happy Birthday, love you". My girls are really the sweetest things.

I was having a hard time this year turning 30, until I came across a few quotes that helped. So 30 is not so bad...not that I have a choice in the matter. I've decided to embrace it and make it a fabulous decade, and I'm excited to see what it has to bring :) So, here's to 30.

And to help all you 25-29 year olds who may be dreading the 3-0, or those that want a bit of a laugh. Here are some of the

10 GREAT REASONS FOR TURNING 30... 

1.) You are no longer 29.  For all practical purposes you are not part of the 20’s crowd anymore but somehow cling to this silly age, because its the last barrier between you and 30??  It was never "Happy 29th Birthday". It was a "Happy...HAHA you're almost 30" Birthday.


2.) You get to check a new "age group" box on forms and join a whole new demographic group for marketing surveys!


3.) You get to stop trying to find out who you are and start creating who you are. You’re no longer too young to have an opinion. You have had a lot of rich experiences that allow you to build your own thoughts and ideas.

4.)  If you'll have learned nothing else from Desperate Housewives, it's 40 is the new 30 and 30 is the new 20.


5.) You're still 25 years away from being a "senior citizen".


6.) At least you're not 31... (the "old age", according to all the youth)  Hahaha...and reason #6 1/2, you are now able to say "the youth" in correct terms, as you no longer qualify as one.


7.) You get to add an extra word to your sentances. When you were a kid it was always "Wow, you're 45?! Now it's "Wow, you're only 45?!"


8.) Having someone check your I.D. is now a compliment


9.) You no longer need to say "When I grow up...I want to be a ____"   You are now there.


10.) A major birthday like 30, usually means better presents and/or a bigger party.
